Ten years ago I stopped working outside the home, just 5 days before my oldest son was born. I thought I might go back to work part time after his birth, but when that 6 weeks was up, I knew I couldn't do it. I remember sitting in my apartment holding my beautiful newborn and crying just at the *thought* of leaving him. I knew if I would make any sacrifice I had to in order to stay home with him.

When he was just a few weeks old I got online for the first time, and discovered eBay. I started selling cloth diapers and baby clothes and supplies for a profit. That was my first taste of making money online, and I thought it was brilliant. ;)

I knew there must be some legitimate way to make money from home, and the more time I spent online, the more the wheels in my head started to turn. Somehow people were making money from these websites, I just
had to learn how!

I got into direct sales and wanted to market online since my family was growing, and doing stuff outside the home was becoming difficult. I built a tiny little 3 page website with one of those "point and click" site builders. I started looking around for additional ways to monetize the site, and was fortunate to stumble on some great mentors who eventually created a learning site called Mom Masterminds, of which I've been a member for a few years.

I bounced around for a while trying different things that didn't really work for me and ended up leaving behind direct sales for affiliate marketing. Despite working very hard, I got in debt and made very little money in direct sales.

A friend and business coach at Mom Masterminds suggested that I use my expertise as a breastfeeding counselor and my interest in natural parenting and create a podcast. That was almost 3 years ago. I love what I do now and it suits my personality perfectly. I earn the bulk of my income from affiliate marketing, as well as the sale of my own products and coaching.

Of course when I started my online business I didn't know that I would be a single mom supporting her 4 children! I'm so thankful that I'm in the position to do so, and am still able to homeschool the kids.
